Almost a month ago, I was at work and my boss sent a broadcast message on whatsapp needing A+.
I was of this type so I volunteered to donate blood. It felt great.
Before that, about 6 months ago or so, I had a phone call from a stranger asking if I can give platelets. I had never done that before, it was a new challenge for me. I replied to the demand, and I'm not gonna lie to you, it was a bit hard as a 1st timer cause I was a bit anxious and not used to being in such a situation, but I was dedicated to what I was doing, and everything went perfectly fine.
Later on when I left, I asked about the patient and they told me she might have had cancer. I had a sudden rush in my body and felt as if I wanted to give her more, because I had lost 2 close friends of mine with the same disease and was unable to do anything about it back then.
But today, I realized that what I've done was the right thing to do and that could save or at least prolong her life!
I didn't sense that I was superman, no. I felt much stronger and content, had a smile on my face all day long and I spiritually felt better although many thought I was crazy ... but I don't blame them, because the day they'll get to experience that; the joy and relief you feel when you give blood, they will understand my reaction.
Life is about giving , and you don't have to be a superman to save a life.
You just need to donate blood :)
Have a great day everyone and thank you.
